Matt & Miriam were privileged to be founding board members for the Bosque Film Society, based in Bosque County, Texas.

Bosque County is the home of the CLIFTEX Theatre which happens to be the longest continuously-running movie theater in the state of Texas. Over ten years ago, we purchased the domain name BOSQUEFILM.COM and host a couple of meetings with the hope to start something along these lines, but nother ever stuck. We had hosted on our property two major films and there were other films being produced in Bosque County, so that seemed like it could provide the interest to get things rolling, but it didn’t.

After we were all surviving COVID, a group of us gave it another shot. This coincided with the transfer of ownership of the CLIFTEX. Marrying general interest in film, film production, WITH the desire to preserve and promote the CLIFTEX was the special sauce the enabled the Bosque Film Society to be birthed successfully. As of the spring of 2023, the society has well over 100 members and we have well-attended monthly meetings and private showings.

During 2022, our group enjoyed film festival competition with a short film we produced – GIL MANNS SKRIK – aka Mad Man’s Scream. Here’s the trailer for the short film.

During April 2023, Miriam and Matt Wallace through their company Mustang International also hosted a public screening of the 1970 classic film KELLY’S HEROES. It was a fabulous success and lots of fun.
