Filmmakers David Lowery and Toby Halbrooks had used J Matt Wallace’s family farm in 2012 to shoot key screens and a number of establishing shots for the film AIN’T THEM BODIES SAINTS. They returned in the summer of 2016 to shoot the settlers’ flashback scene for A GHOST STORY.
Even though A GHOST STORY starred Casy Affleck and Rooney Mara, the stars from AIN’T THEM BODIES SAINTS did not return to the Wallace family farm for this shoot as they were not in these scenes and a stand-in was used for the ghost.
While shooting at the farm, J Matt Wallace was able to contribute beyond providing the location by offering his video assist services.
Four years later, we took another photo with J Mark Wallace (Matt’s father) with Toby and David, much like their 2012 photo.
